Refreshment Days

Refreshment Days: First Tuesday of the month beginning in October

9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

One of the first things to go in our busy lives is time for quiet reflection and prayer. Each month we offer a half a day of quiet and hospitality for individuals and groups. The day begins with an opening meditation from area leaders and colleagues. Individual time for prayer or study follows, with an opportunity for shared reflection, worship and a meal. Rooms can be reserved for a colleagues group or staff to gather in the morning or afternoon. Suggested donation: $50 includes the midday dinner. Registration required.

THE SOUL OF LEADERSHIP
Tuesday, June 5, 9AM to 2PM

In twenty-first century Western culture, leaders are rewarded for their drive, decisiveness, productivity, and long work hours. What would it look like for a leader to cultivate the inner life, to step off the treadmill, to take time apart for personal reflection? What would leadership arising from the soul look like? This will be an experiential, interactive workshop, in which presentation will be interwoven with periods of quiet reflection, and participants’ own experiences will serve as the basis for reflection and discernment.

This workshop will be led by Rev. Dr. Benefiel. Rev. Dr. Benefiel is the Executive Officer of Executive Soul, LLC, which offers consulting, coaching, and spiritual direction for leaders and organizations. She is also adjunct faculty at Andover Newton Theological School in Boston and visiting lecturer at All Hallows College in Dublin, Ireland. In addition to numerous other publications, Dr. Benefiel is the author of Soul At Work (Seabury, 2005) and The Soul of a Leader (Crossroad, 2008), and co-editor of The Soul of Supervision (Morehouse, 2010).

Come join us for a day of reflection, learning and quiet.   Registration required.  Fee: $50 includes the midday dinner at the Convent. To register online, click here.
